Women's Caucus for Art
The Women's Caucus for Art (WCA), founded in 1972, is a national organization unique in its multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural membership of artists, art historians, students and educators, gallery and museum professionals, and others involved in the visual arts. The mission of the Women’s Caucus for Art is to create community through art, education, and social activism. WCA is committed to recognizing the contribution of women in the arts; providing women with leadership opportunities and professional development; expanding networking and exhibition opportunities for women; supporting local, national and global art activism; and advocating for equity in the arts for all. From the emergence of the women's art movement in the early 1970s, the Women's Caucus for Art has championed the contributions of women in the arts professions. Located in the hub of contemporary art activity in New York City, the National Office of the Women's Caucus for Art maintains the national network and oversees the daily operations of the organization.
